Lantana
Scientific Name: Verbenaceae Lantana horrida.
When I lived on a 30 acre place on Lake Austin, I had lots of Lantana growing there. There were two kinds growing. One was the orange and red variety (Texas Lantana), and the other was the pink and yellow variety (Pink Lantana). I saw lots of PipeVine Swallowtail Butterflies and other butterflies and humming birds drinking the nectar of the Lantana. Supposedly lantana only likes to grow in hot sunny areas, but most of ours grew in the shade of the cedars and live oaks. Deer aren't supposed to like them, but I saw lots of deer eating the leaves and the flowers of the lantana. Lantana starts blooming in the early spring and then blooms again and again every time it rains until late in the fall.
